Biking with Ben!
Thanks to Chad and Andy for raising money and awareness for 18 FORE Life!
Below is a message from the Missouri Farm Bureau’s home office –
Many of you are familiar with The Ben Kruse 18 Fore Life Charity Golf Event held annually in Dexter to raise money for the V-Foundation for cancer research, as well as for families in Southeast Missouri whose lives are affected by cancer. This year, our own CHAD GAYLORD in the Claims’ Department and his friend ANDY NEIDERT have pledged to ride their bicycles from Jefferson City to Dexter, both in memory of Ben as well as to provide recognition for the event held June 5th.
To show our support, you are invited to help send them off this Friday, May 29 at 1:00 p.m. We will provide free Ice Cream Sundaes followed by a brief presentation about the event by Chad and Andy on the patio, weather permitting. (Although the forecast looks promising, we will be in the Atrium in case of rain.)
Also, to help show our support, we will have a JEANS DAY for $2 on Friday, with the money going toward the charity event. You may drop off your $$ in HR if you would like to participate.

Gary Rhine Article In the Daily Statesman
Last week the Daily Statesman ran a great article about Gary Rhine written by Noreen Hyslop.  Gary is a cancer survivor who will share his story at our banquet this year and will also act on an idea he has of raising an extra $10,000 for 18 FORE Life!

Hey everybody! Today we’re unveiling our new site and trying out a new way to communicate with folks who enjoy checking out our website. We are proud of this site and the more interaction we can have, the better. Plus, it is nice to have a way to post news, information, inspirational stories, and other happenings for anyone and everyone to see. Feel free to add comments to each and every post that interests you. Start a conversation! Also, subscribe to our RSS feed to be updated anytime a new post is added to the site. And if you haven’t already done so, sign up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date with 18 FORE Life’s latest news and events.
We have a lot going on with our charity at this time.  June 5th will be here before we know it. Our goal for 2009 is once again to raise over $100,000 and we feel good about that goal. Our volunteers are working hard, our sponsors are showing their usual generous support, and everyone is looking forward to a great weekend June 5-6! Thanks to everyone for the support and enjoy the site.

Garden of Hope: We have started a garden that is growing each year. Visible from the road, you can “plant” signs in our garden honoring or memorializing friends and loved ones for a simple $20 donation. The sign will be “planted” annually as our garden continues to grow!
