We Still Miss You Ben
Five years ago today Ben was called home, and those of us who knew him and loved him have never, and will never, be the same. We lost a son, a husband, a brother, a friend, a buddy. He lived 28 years and 7 days to the very fullest, treating each one as a gift and making all of our lives better for having been around him. We all know he is very proud of the way we team together each June to Celebrate, Give, and Remember through the charity that his name helps to represent.
I think the song lyrics below are fitting on a day like today.
I came by today to see you, I had to let you know
If I knew the last time that I held you was the last time I’d ‘ve held you and never let go
Its kept me awake nights wondering
Lying in the dark just asking why
I’ve always been told you won’t be called home, until its your time
I guess Heaven was needing a hero
Somebody just like you
Brave enough to stand up for what you believed
And follow it through
When I try to make it make sense in my mind
The only conclusion I come to
Is Heaven was needing a hero like you

Love you Buddy!
There is not a day that goes by without a thought Ben. We loved him like our own son. He was a very big part of our life. We miss him so. That smile will never be forgotten. I only wish he was here to see how much good the golf tournament does. He would be so proud and so happy to be involved with it. Our hearts are heavy every year on August 7th and 14th. He was truly genuine inside and out.
