Hello, Family and Friends! Can you believe this Spring we’ll be celebrating 15 years of the H.O.P.E. Campaign!? I cannot believe it! What an honor it has been for our family to partner with you over these past fifteen years, raising funds, prayers, and hope to benefit others in our community who have battled or who are battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. What a blessing to be able to honor and remember our parents and our sister in this beautiful way, as well.
We had hoped for a big celebration for this 15th year, but life happens, and we’ve had a change of plans. I am currently recovering from a herniated disc in my spine. I have been going to physical therapy twice a week, and I have a pain management plan that is working. My goal has been to avoid surgery, and I believe I will be able to do this. Due to this recent physical injury/set-back, I do not feel it to be in my best interest to plan a fish fry this year. Although this saddens me, as always, we have a back-up plan!
The H.O.P.E. Campaign has managed to host a fundraiser each year since 2011, and this year is no different! In the past, if we could not host a fish fry for medical or other reasons, we brainstormed an alternate way of raising funds for that year. This year, we’re excited to announce that we will still be selling our annual t-shirts and sweatshirts. We are also adding a hoodie option this year, as requested by many of our youth supporters! In addition to apparel sales, we’re excited to be hosting our first ever H.O.P.E. Campaign Online Auction! We have already received several wonderful donations to place in the auction, and we are excited to share these items with you very soon! You guys, when I realized I may not physically be able to host this year’s fish fry, I knew we had to press forward with something. From the date of my injury in December, through today, I’ve learned of six individuals who have recently been faced with a cancer diagnosis. That is six families who have received $6,000 from the H.O.P.E. Campaign and 18 FORE Life, just in the past few weeks. I’m continually reminded of the importance and impact of our ongoing fundraising efforts. I am confident our supporters will show up and show out again this year.
